Introduces RegFlo Advanced Technology
for Gas Flow and Pressure Monitoring
MARSHALLTOWN, IA (April 2001) — The Emerson Process Management Regulator Division  announces the introduction of RegFlo™ Type RF100 and RF110 gas flow and pressure instruments featuring multiple capabilities and advantages for gas utility companies. Using modular, self-monitoring RegFlo instruments to remotely measure gas flow, a utility company can plan and create a more efficient distribution system, fine-tuning it to maximize usage.The main function of RegFlo technology is the acquisition and storage of flow and pressure data. It makes this data available via computer link from each district regulator outfitted with a RegFlo instrument. This information can be used in a variety of ways, such as gas load forecasting, system balancing and modeling, estimating pipeline inventory, and documenting unused system capacity. It also provides alarm and diagnostic functions relative to these data points. Mounted on an Emerson Process Management Regulator Division Type EZR Regulator, the RegFlo Type RF100 measures and monitors gas flow through the EZR pressure regulator. Currently, the RegFlo Type RF100 fits the 2-inch and 4-inch EZR regulators, with future plans to include all sizes of EZR and 1098-EGR regulators. The RegFlo Type RF110 pressure monitoring module is mounted remotely from the regulator on a pipestand or wall mount and used to monitor up to three different line pressures. RegFlo technology is PC-compatible with RegLink™ Software, and the convenient menu format enables each utility to configure the instrument to their specific requirements.
