The Type MP is a pilot-operated pressure reducing regulator with incorporated noise attenuation and an optional integral slam-shut valve. This regulator is used to reduce the pressure in natural gas transmission lines from pressures of 29 to 1233 psig (2 to 85 bar) to distribution pressures of 15 to 870 psig (1 to 60 bar). The optional slam-shut utilizes a manometric box and a double-stage powering mechanism.
The MP is in conformity with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC
and is classified in Category IV

- A pre-expansion spring
- A pilot manometric box
- A pilot spring
- A pre-expansion manometer
- A relief valve
Depending on the flow coefficient chosen:
- A valve plug, an orifice, a specific valve plug guide
Version with Integral Slam-Shut (DN 25 to 100,DN 150 with Qf <= 3810) consists of:
- A slam-shut connecting part replacing the bottom
- A valve plug with a tight shut disk plug
- A slam-shut bypass valve
- A release relay type OS2 (see Instructional Manual NTAOS2):
- A mechanism box (BM)
- A safety manometric box (BMS) to be connected outlet side of the regulator
